The baseball season is upon us and the Chiefs are looking to bounce back after a tough loss to Nixa in the District final. The Chiefs have  lost 7 seniors from last years team and will be expecting now seniors to step up such as Andrew Kauffman, Chandler Jones and Robbie Merced.  “After a tough loss in districts last year, we’re trying to have a bounce back year and finish with a state championship,” Kauffman said. They will also be expecting new players to step up such as Sophomore Mason Auer who is committed to Missouri State to continue his baseball career past high school, joining teammate Robbie Merced on committing to the Bears.  He will be a key addition this year’s team and will look to provide stability for the pitching rotation. “Playing on varsity will be different than anything I have ever experienced and I am really excited about that”, Auer said.   The chiefs have been historically successful at baseball and will look to keep that going this year. The Chiefs will kick their season off with a home game on March 11 against Willard.
