While many people like myself loved the original Hocus Pocus, the second one definitely disappointed me. There were some scenes that I loved but failed to keep my full attention. 

I was excited when I heard another Hocus Pocus was coming out. After 29 years since the first movie came to our screens, I had high expectations for the second movie. I loved how they explained the backstory of the Sanderson sisters and gave us more of a glimpse into who they are. 

Hocus Pocus is a Halloween film about three witches who are sisters and are in the most powerful coven. The second movie introduces a 16 year old girl who discovers she is a witch. I feel that this movie makes it more about the next generation of witches than the Sanderson sisters. 

The new movie was just not as much different from the original as I thought it would be. I was also  waiting for Max Dennison, who is the main character from the first film to make an appearance, but they did not even talk about him. 

There were some parts of the movie that I loved so it was not a complete disappointment. I don’t recommend not getting your hopes up before watching it though. 

Hocus Pocus 2 was more of a comedy, compared to the original which was more of a fantasy/horror movie. I feel like nothing went together and little effort was put into creating the film.

Most feedback on the movie was not great either. Not only was I disappointed but most Hocus Pocus fans were. I can see how people love the new movie because there were some parts that were amazing. I loved the end of the movie because It gave the watchers a different side of the Sanderson sisters.

My overall rating of the movie would have to be a 5 out of 10 due to it being similar to the first. We may even get a Hocus Pocus 3 after they showed main clues to another movie after the credits.
