Q: In your opinion, what is the most important thing a freshmen planning on playing soccer should know?
A: “Something really important to remember, especially as a freshman, is that we play so many games. It is easy to take them for granted. You have to go into each game with a drive and a passion to give your best. One day you will play your last game and you will wish you didn’t take a single game for granted.”
Q: What is your advice to the incoming freshmen to the soccer team?
A: “Be coachable and willing to learn and adapt to different styles of play. High school soccer is very different from club soccer, and that can take some adjusting. If you are willing to learn and respect your coaches you will do great.”
Q: What is something you wish you knew your freshman year of soccer?
A: “Looking back at my freshmen year, I wish I would have been a little easier on myself. We play games pretty much constantly, so you are bound to have some really good games and some really bad games. You have to be able to wake up the next day for the next game with a clear mind and know that it is a new game so any mistakes you made the day before are in the past, and you need to focus on the new game ahead of you.”
