Super Mario Bros Movie Review
When I first heard that a Super Mario Brothers movie was coming out, I didn’t know what to expect.
Growing up, I played Super Mario Bros and it was a lot of fun but never expected to see it be made as a movie. When I decided to give it a try and watch it, I was surprised, but in a good way.
My overall rating would be a 4/5, I definitely have some pros and cons. The movie was super fast paced and had a lot of cliffhangers, but it was predictable which for me kind of ruined it a bit.
I really enjoyed how they kept the story line and all the characters the same. My favorite thing would be the animation. At some points you honestly feel like you’re in their world.
As a video game movie, I didnt think I would enjoy it. I have seen other movies like Sonic but to be honest, I would put Super Mario Bros on top for video game movies.
I’ll admit this movie is for children. It was very colorful and tried to be funny but wasn’t. It was also shorter than I thought but that could just be because it was really rushed.
Overall it was a good movie, I feel like a lot of video game movies get bad reviews from true fans that wanted it to be the exact same as the game. Super Mario Bros was pretty exact. Of course some things were different, but it definitely deserves the title.
There are a lot of mixed reviews for this movie but to me what matters is Super Mario Bros kept my attention and I would watch it again.
Whether you’re a fan of the game or not, I would recommend watching this movie. It definitely brought me back to my childhood and unlocked a lot of memories.
