Everyone’s Christmas decorations are different, some spreading the Christmas joy, and others killing the holiday spirit. This is a list of my favorites and most loathed.
Theme 1: Traditional Christmas
Traditional Christmas tree themes typically involve the conventional red and green theme, with a mix of homemade and store-bought decorations. This theme is very cozy and the most common. These tree decorations tend to have many sentimental ornaments and other decorations, with many of them being gifted. These trees each have their own story to them, giving off a sense of nostalgia. The tree in my house is a traditional Christmas tree, making this even more likable to me.
Theme 2: Neutral Beige
This theme is often called “Sad Beige”. Neutral beige themes involve a white tree, white ornaments, white garland, and more white decorations. This theme is very sad and depressing, as there is none of the traditional colors of Christmas. Neutral beige trees make me feel bored and wishing for the pop of color found in a traditional Christmas tree.
Theme 3: Disney Adult
Disney trees are Christmas trees that are typically crammed with many different Disney stuffed animals. These trees are specifically terrifying considering how you would see a million beady eyes staring back at you every time you try to enjoy the Christmas decorations.
Theme 4: Monochromatic
This theme is very organized, with every decoration following a specific color theme. The color could be red, pink, blue, green, or many others. These trees tend to be very decorated to make up for the lack of color and are very color-coordinated. These trees are particularly ugly and lack character. I would rate these trees three out of five stars because they have color and typically have unique decorations because of their boring colors.
Theme 5: Tacky
Tacky Christmas tends to be the most nostalgic feeling theme. These trees are normally extremely colorful with a vintage vibe to them. Tacky Christmas is the tree you would most likely see in your Grandmother’s house, very nostalgic and memorable.
Theme 6: Beach/Coastal Christmas
Beach Christmas trees feature many blue and white-toned lights, garlands, and more with seashell and starfish ornaments and assorted beach theme decorations. This theme is the most illogical considering how it’s not summer.
