Our Chiefs cheerleaders visited Drury University to compete in the UCA Regional competition on November 20th. Our varsity and junior varsity teams won first place in their divisions and got a bid at UCA nationals. Nationals are at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, in mid-February. 

“I am having a great season with my team this year! We won regionals toward the end of November and won a bid to nationals. Nationals is in February and we are all putting in extra work for it! I know we are all really excited,” senior Rachel Deters said.

They also competed at the state competition on December 12th. The team placed 7th out of 12 teams and got zero deductions. A highlight from the weekend is that sophomore Preslee Lunnen won an award for tumbling.
