Stay in Shape This Summer With These Summer Sports
If you are looking for ways to stay off your phone this summer, try these sports.
Soccer is a sport that makes you run, learn hand-eye coordination, and stamina. Soccer, to the rest of the world, is known as football or association football since you can only use your feet unless you are the goalie. The YMCA and other fitness centers offer the chance to join a soccer team from toddlers up to eighteen years old.
Swimming, while not classified as a sport, is a fun activity to do in the hot summer months and even into the fall. Fitness centers offer swim lessons and a pool to swim in. The only downside is that most of the time a membership is required to the fitness center or a pool. You can also go swimming at lakes like Table Rock or Crighton Beach access. Fassnight pool is also somewhere you can go swimming if you don’t want to risk bugs in the water.
Disc golf is a sport where you try and get a frisbee into a net. To play the game you just need a frisbee, net, and to find a court or open area to play in. The rules are similar to golf but instead of a golf ball you are using a frisbee. The game is fun to play and it gets you outside and enjoying the outdoors with friends and family. There are nine to eighteen holes or nets. The holes can have obstacles like water, trees, and sand if you want, but most people just set them up in a clear, open area.
Beach volleyball is basically volleyball but with sand instead of a gym floor. To play the game you get into two teams of six and the teams get on opposite sides of the net. The teams decide who serves by a referee throwing a ball into the air and then the team that hits the ball over to their side of the net gets the ball first. This sport is fun once you learn how to play and you can also help you with your hand-eye coordination.
