 Cloe Salle (12)- France

Q: What is your favorite memory of our school?

A: “The football games.”

Q: What is something you have noticed here that is different from your school?

A: “It’s less pressure, like in my country you can’t talk to the teacher like you do here, they’re friendlier.”

Q: How does the teaching here compare to France?

A: “We have school from eight am to six pm but we have more time to eat, so we end later. It is hard to explain because we don’t have the same classes every day. For Monday I could have six classes but on Tuesday I could have eight.”

Q: Do you think you would be a foreign exchange student again?

A: “Yes, because it helped me gain self-confidence and I know that it’s an experience that will open many doors for a future profession.”

   Arinchaya Sukprasert (11)- Thailand

Q: What is your favorite memory of our school?

A: “ I have made a lot of good friends and had fun.”

Q: What is something you have noticed here that is different from your school?

A: “In Thailand, you have the same classroom and the same teacher all day. It lasts ten hours per day. We start at eight am and end at eight pm.”

Q: How does the teaching here compare to Thailand?

A: “It is better because you can pick which classes you want and in Thailand, you can’t choose the class, they choose for you.”

Q: Do you think you would be a foreign exchange student again?

A: “No, I mean I want to but I can not anymore. It is something I can only do one time.”

   Noah Conte (12)- Guadelupe

Q: What is your favorite memory of our school?

A: “It was last week, we did our presentations at the theater “Secret in the Wings” and it was incredible because I made a bunch of new friends and we did parties and so that was cool.”

Q: What is something you have noticed here that is different from your school?

A: “They are way more easier cause we don’t have the same system of schedules so for example, one day I can finish at 5:30 and the other day I could finish at four pm and so it is kind of always like that. We also have a big exam every week and it is always on a different subject so you have to be prepared for it. We have a lot of homework when we go home for the next day.”

Q: How does the teaching here compare to Guadelupe?

A: “The teacher is way more nice here, I mean some of them because I guess the teachers are more stressing where I come from because they have way more stuff to teach, so I think they have to stress more so they are more difficult with their students then here.”

Would you be a foreign exchange student again?

A: “ I don’t think so. I miss my family and it is kind of something you should experience in your life.”

   MinJun Cho (12)- South Korea

Q: What is your favorite memory of our school?

A: “Band has been the biggest part of my American life. So every memory of Band is good. And the memories of the New York trip are also my favorite.”

Q: What is something you have noticed here that is different from your school?

A: “American schools give students much more opportunities to choose what they want to do. Which is very nice.”

Q: How does the teaching here compare to South Korea?

A: “In America, teachers can make their own curriculum from the beginning, but in Korea, since textbooks are fixed and they have to follow them, teachers can’t do that. Me personally, I like the American system more.”

Q: Would you be a foreign exchange student again?

   A: “I would love to!”
