NFL Super Bowl Predicitons
(all of these stats and records are of Week 14 in the NFL Season)
With a team as good as the 2021-2022 Los Angeles Rams, you think they would have a chance at going back to back in the Super Bowl. It has been a rough start for the Rams during the 2022-23 season. Losing their starting QB Matthew Stafford as well as star WR Cooper Kupp to the IR has proved unbeneficial. I can’t say the season would be better with them, but the results of all of these missing players lands them dead last in the NFC West with a record of 4-9 as of week 14. But this brings the question, who will lead the NFL this year? Will it be the Cincinnati Bengals who lost in this previous Super Bowl, the Philadelphia Eagles with a strong record of 12-1, or the Kansas City Chiefs who are a familiar face in the NFL Playoffs.
As of now, the teams leading both conferences are the Buffalo Bills and Eagles, but this doesn’t mean they will make it to the Super Bowl. Since we aren’t even in the playoffs yet, it’s hard to make assumptions. Despite that, I will be reasoning my guesses on Super Bowl LVII.
In the AFC Conference, it is hard to say any teams besides the Bills and Chiefs, but it is too early to count out teams like the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens. All of these teams are the most dominant having no less than eight wins on the season so far. The Bills and Chiefs both proved their strength during Week 14, both playing important games (Bills v Jets & Chiefs v Broncos) facing division rivals. The Ravens also proved analytics wrong by beating the Pittsburgh Steelers. Without starting QB Lamar Jackson, the Ravens were unfavored and will most likely stay that way until Jackson can make his return.
In the NFC Conference, it’s mostly a toss up. Obviously teams like the Eagles and Dallas Cowboys are proving their power, as well as the San Francisco 49ers. After the Eagles win over the New York Giants, they clinched the first playoff spot.
With all of these teams proving themselves as contenders, it’s hard to make a solid Super Bowl LVII prediction. Although it is quite obvious that some teams are superior, like my first pick for the Super Bowl, the Philadelphia Eagles. With this team performing as well as it is, it’s hard to see them falling to anyone else during the Playoffs. The only team to beat the Eagles this year was the Washington Commanders, who are still in the playoff picture, meaning we could see an upset once again. However who will meet them at Super Bowl LVII?
The Buffalo Bills have proved their strength with quarterback Josh Allen, and star wide receiver Stefon Diggs. The Bills are searching for their first Super Bowl since 1993 (Super Bowl XXVII), but I think one team will beat them to it, the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are a good team every year, proving to be better then almost every team. They show no signs of slowing down, which makes me pick them as the other Super Bowl candidate.
I believe for Super Bowl LVII, the Philadelphia Eagles will face off against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Eagles have a strong offense, using stars like Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, Miles Sanders, Devonta Smith and so many keys to their offense. Kansas City has a good defense, but will it be enough to hold them? If we turn the tables, the Chiefs have many weapons such as Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Isiah Pacheco. The Eagles have a very stong defense, possessing a very dangerous front line as well as a menacing secondary that could be too much for Mahomes.
With everything being accounted for, I think the Eagles will come out on top and beat the Chiefs. I think this game has the chance to become a shootout, with both offenses firing shots to the endzone. I can see the Eagles doing just enough more. My score prediction is 27-24, Philadelphia on top.
