Many people online, including myself, have complained about the Disney and Pandora jewelry collaboration, specifically the Disney princess rings. The rest of the collection has miscellaneous rings, such as some villain ones or some classic Mickey Mouse rings, but the most hotly contested are the ones representing some of the main princess’ of the franchise.
People complain they aren’t accurate or just plain don’t resemble the characters at all. With such a high price, I’d at least like a ring that reminds me of the character it’s based off of. Or I’d at least like to be able to change the type of metal on the ring. Unlike most jewelry stores, their online site does not allow you to change between gold and silver accents for the ring. With just a few changes to colors and metals, these rings could be way more accurate to the princesses and become worth the purchase.
Snow White
If we’re going to represent Snow White, I don’t think that silver is a very good choice for this ring. Her dress is full of this vibrant yellow, which I think would be perfectly represented by a gold metal.
As for the gem, I like the bow shape! It’s very cute and it feels very “Snow White,” along with the red. However, the pink in the center makes no sense. There is no pink anywhere in her design for this to make sense, so I believe it would be better if replaced with the dark blue that’s found in her bodice.

Belle
This Beauty and the Beast ring confused me at first. The silver, pink, and rose design almost made me think of Sleeping Beauty rather than Belle.
Belle’s iconic dress is yellow, so I believe a gold metal would be better suited for her ring. The gem is nice as well, but it’s too pink. It would look better red, to symbolize the actual rose found in the Beast’s castle.

Cinderella
I don’t understand why they would make this ring gold. All of Cinderella’s jewelry in the movie, and her iconic original ballgown, are all silver. The movie is also very cool-toned and does not give off a gold vibe in general.
The gem and accents on the ring are very pretty though, I like the blue and I like how the shape represents her magic carriage.

Tiana
We only see one instance in the Princess and the Frog movie where Tiana looks good in silver, at the costume party. Other than that, a silver metal doesn’t really make sense when it comes to her character.
The movie is full of all these rich, warm colors that a silver piece of jewelry just does not go with. I believe gold would suit Tiana’s ring way better, and it makes the green of the jewels pop out more too.

Rapunzel
I actually have very few complaints about this one. It’s nearly perfect. The shape of the ring resembles Rapunzel’s royal crown, which is cute.
However, the color of the gems are just a bit off. I can see why they would have made it more pink, but when I think of Rapunzel, I think of a more blueish-purple, rather than pinkish-purple.

Jasmine
In my opinion, this is the worst ring of them all. Firstly, let’s talk about the metal. With a movie with such rich warm colors, I wouldn’t go for silver on Jasmine’s ring. Besides, she’s wearing gold jewelry throughout Aladdin, so it doesn’t make sense at all.
Secondly, the gem. The shape is fine, and I do like the little sun motifs on the side. But the colors are all wrong. Jasmine has a more greenish-blue tint to her, not this sky blue. If you showed this ring to me, I wouldn’t know if it was Jasmine or Cinderella.

Ariel
Finishing this story off on a good note, thankfully. The ring representing Ariel, from The Little Mermaid, is perfect. I love the pearl in the middle and I like the oyster it’s nestled in. I think it perfectly represents Ariel.
I also believe silver was the right choice for Ariel, since it looks so nice with the pearl, and goes with the overall vibe of the movie. A gold metal would be too harsh in contrast with the lack of gemstones and her character in general. I also love iridescent rhinestones lining the band of the ring, representing the purple and greenish-blue tones in her mermaid form.
