The eSports team has had an extremely successful season worth highlighting. eSports is a club through the Missouri Scholastic eSports Federation (MOSEF), where students have the opportunity to compete their gaming skills in video games such as “Rocket League”, “Super Smash Brothers”, “Overwatch”, and more.
“Similar to track and field, we run multiple seasons, and multiple titles each season,” eSports coach Tyler Evans said.
From August to November, eSports has had an event nearly everyday, further showing their commitment to this activity. Whether it was a meeting, or a competition, the students involved worked hard to improve their gaming skills, and just have fun.
Although eSports competitions are done online, from a classroom, the students work just as hard as any other club participants, and have been just as successful.
In their last competitions, their varsity team was sectional semi finalists in “Rocket League”. They also participated in the first ever Southwest Missouri Invitational competition and got third place.
The team couldn’t have made these huge achievements without hard work and a consistent effort to recruit new members.
