With March Madness coming up on the 17, you hear a lot of people talking about making brackets for which teams they think will win. It can all sound very confusing to somebody who knows nothing about basketball, but still wants to be involved. If you happen to fall into this category, maybe making your own unique bracket would be perfect!
A bracket doesn’t have to be very serious or based on past championships and overall team scores throughout the years. It can be something silly and manageable. Plus, it would be hilarious if your top pick won March Madness solely based on something like the coolest mascot.
First of all, you need to learn exactly how to create a bracket. In a typical bracket, “seeds” are teams on the very end of the bracket, all of your starting teams. They’re each given a number from 1 to 16 that dictates their performance based on their current season. Lower seeds typically face off with higher seeds during the first round as an “easy win” for those top few performing so well. From there, you pin the winners of each round against each other until one comes out on top.
There is no official list of every team playing until March 15, but there are plenty of websites that offer realistic predictions if you want to get an early start. All of the seed placements are from ESPN’s Bracketology as of March 3, and may not be completely accurate since predictions are always changing.
Best Colors
This is the simplest one for someone dipping their toes into the March Madness realm. It’s easy to look at the colors of the logo and deem which one you think is more appealing.
Cutest Mascot
A little bit more research is required for this type of bracket, but it’s surely worth it. Some, mascots, mainly the animals in my opinion, are definitely winners! Some on the other hand, like the weird human ones, are pretty difficult to look at.
Which Mascot Would Win in a
Fight?
This one requires the most thinking of the three. You have to compare mascots and decide which one of them could win a battle against the other. Maybe the mascot who comes out on top symbolizes the team’s fighting spirit, and you’ll end up winning your March Madness pool!
